It’s been quite the effort dealing with the loss of my SoundCloud account. Since my summer was so busy and I had a month vacation planned in Europe I had no time to make the necessary changes until now. Previously my website’s listening functionality relied entirely on SoundCloud to play all my music. Now I have chosen to use YouTube to host and organize all my content. For almost a week I have been uploading nearly my entire catalog to the JPOD YouTube channel. Please consider subscribing to my channel as a replacement for following on SoundCloud.

For those of you who are wondering why SoundCloud terminated my account it can be summarized as being a copyright problem. Some time ago SoundCloud changed its policy (probably due to pressure from the major labels) to terminate accounts that received 3 copyright strikes. This functionality was apparently given directly to the labels so SoundCloud effectively tied their own hands by bowing to this pressure. No longer did they have any control over accounts and strikes. Thus my account is permanently terminated thanks to Sony Music and Beggars Group.

Moving forward I have adopted YouTube to host all my content. I updated my website so that everything plays properly again. I also spent some time extensively organizing my music into playlists which are all easily accessible from the channel home page. I hope this makes it easy for you to listen to the music you love. And thanks to everyone for their continued support during these challenging times! I will continue to make good music and I’m optimistic that we will find ways to share it with you without being bullied by the copyright cartels.

This summer I’m extremely excited to get further east in the US than I’ve ever been. I’ll be at the infamous Electric Forest festival in Rothbury MI! This festival has quite the reputation and lineup. I’m even playing 4 sets (2 evening 2 daytime) at the Hangar stage so it should be easy to catch me play. See you out there in fantastic colorful costume!

I’m hugely excited to be a part of Inspire’s NYE event this year in Portland. With a massive lineup including Tipper, Alex Grey, ESKMO, Random Rab, The Human Experience, Plantrae and so many more, I couldn’t be more excited for this new year’s celebration! Now I just have to make sure I’m not playing at the same time as Tipper.
